Most Americans Foresee AI Job Losses

More than seven in 10 U.S. adults believe AI will cause job losses over the next two decades, according to a new Pew Research Center survey about AI sentiment across 37 countries. Globally, anxiety is most acute among 18-to-34-year-olds. “While younger adults are more concerned about job loss than older ones, they have fairly mixed views of the technology’s impact on daily life,” Pew’s Laura R. Silver writes on LinkedIn. The results come amid a debate about AI safety following a series of hacking incidents.
